Week 13
I think, well I hope, the morning sickness is mostly gone. I hope. I’ve only been nauseous for a couple of hours in the mornings, so I’m hoping that I’m pretty much back to normal. Finally. I’ve been eating much better over the past week, and have done a good bit of exercise.
Food wise, my days are quite boring and regular – I’m a bit of a creature of habit. So, here is what my average day would be like
Breakfast – 30g porridge, made with water with raspberries, dessicated coconut and mixed seeds, and a bit of milk on top. I usually have that at about 7.30-8.00am, then at about 9 the nausea kicks in, so I have a slice of brown seeded bread with peanut butter(the Meridian brand, peanuts only, no sugar, salt or oil).
Snack – Banana, Apple and Babybel
Lunch – Brown seeded toasted sandwich with grilled turkey breast, avocado, tomato, and peppers, then under the grill with cheddar cheese and topped with tobasco sauce. I am putting tobasco sauce on everything these days! I wouldn’t be surprised if I put it on my porridge!
Snack – Here’s where I’m hungry! Instead of my normal almonds and carrots with hommous, I’m having 1 wheetabix with berries and milk, or another slice of seeded bread with peanut butter. Not the worst I know, but just wait until lent is over and I can eat chocolate again.
Dinner – I’ve been eating fish again, yay!
On Monday we had grilled salmon with stir fried vegetables and cashew nuts.
On Tuesday we had prawns(they were cooked to almost burnt) with baby potatoes, ratatouille and salad.
On Wednesday I had a toasted cheese sandwich, really healthy! I just couldn’t even look at meat at that time.
On Thursday we had grilled turkey breast with piri piri sauce, side salad and baby potatoes.
On Friday I had a bowl of wheetabix with rasberries and mixed seeds. Starting to see a pattern here, I like berries!
On Saturday we went out for dinner and I had asparagus with hollandaise and poached egg for starter, a fish pie for mains, and pannacota with berry compote for dessert. I also had the nicest glass of red wine that I’ve ever had, ever! So hard to only have one.
On Sunday we had a lovely Irish Mother’s roast chicken with roast potatoes and gravy and all the veg. No dessert unfortunately, the Irish Mother dropped the ball on that one! (Sorry Mam)
So, all in all, not too bad except for on Wednesday when I had apple and rhubarb crumble with cream after my toasted cheese sandwich, and had a half a (giant) cookie with my daughter Aoibhe on Friday.
I’m starting to get some energy back too, which is great. I feel so much better, even though I’m still falling asleep on the couch every day without even noticing it. When does that stop?! But exercise has been better. Here’s what I did last week:
Monday – Legs & Chest/Tricpes – Squats (15)kg), press ups, lunges(15kg), tricep dips, skullcrushers (7.5kg)
all 3 x 10
Tuesday – 2 x 45 minute walks – into class in town and home again after
Wednesday – Shoulders – Upright row (10kg), lateral/frontal raise (4kg) 3 x 10
Thursday – rest
Friday – 1 x 30 minute walk. I also cut the grass in the front and back gardens which took FOREVER as it was so long, and spent about an hour cleaning the house. Which put me in a bad mood because I hate cleaning.
Saturday – rest
Sunday – 1 x 40 minute walk
That’s it for me for this week! Hope you enjoyed this post. Only 1 week left in Lent, then you’ll be seeing the regular Freddo bar updates!
