Keep It Simple

There is no magic to weight loss. It really is as simple as regular exercise and healthy eating. The supplement industry is only booming because of us. Because we want to get fit over night and without much effort. I’ve been that person, who buys Fitness Magazines with covers that claim to give you abs of steel in 3 days. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!

But if it’s on a cover of a magazine, it must be true!? Right!?! There are many people out there, still thinking like this. How else would you explain that all these magazines still publisingh funny stories like that? The other thing that is pushing my buttons: those magic pills that’ll make you a supermodel overnight. It’s human nature to reach for easier solutions. We are busy and we are lazy. And it’s all perfectly normal to believe in magic and fairy tales.
I’ve been there, I’ve done that and I’ve failed. I am my own biggest critic. Since I remember, my butt has been too soft, my love handles made of jelly and my thigh gap has been non-existent. It got critical for me after I gave birth to my son 4 years ago, and saw my “new” body in the mirror. I was wishing to be that fake fat again. I battled postnatal depression and fell into a proper hole. And then I crawled out of it mostly because I discovered exercise and healthy ways. And the medication helped too 🙂

I can honestly say that there’s not enough talk about Pre Natal and Post Natal exercise. The whole 9 months of pregnancy, I mean it’s a long time, no information reached me! My GP told me to eat one Mars bar instead of two. True story! Why didn’t she tell me to go and take up some exercise? She was the one monitoring my weight gain. I ended up with 30 extra kilos.

I’m so very passionate about fit pregnancy and post-natal fitness. It’s not all about weight. To get out of the house after you’ve had your baby is the main goal. From there on everything else will follow. It’s important to spend time with like-minded people and build yourself a support network. You need to take care of yourself in order to take care of your family. All babies and toddlers are more than welcome in Baby Body Fit, the more the merrier, I always say! So you are not missing out on precious time with your little ones! Instead, you are setting an example of a healthy lifestyle and the importance of movement.

Oh, and staying fit during your pregnancy will give you an easier and shorter labour, yes please! And loads of other benefits.

Let’s make a difference one class at the time!
